Going to the Desert
Tomorrow our battalion leaves for Fort Irwin, CA to support another Stryker Brigade that is about to go to Iraq. It is an excellent opportunity for training, but we'll miss the other two weeks of fall in Alaska and come back in the winter. Also, we'll have to switch from whomping hippies and wrestling moose to tickling rattle snakes and flinging scorpions at each other. I'll be limited to a cell phone for a while because we won't have many computers with an internet connection or much free time down there. But, even if I can't do any posts while at Irwin, I'll do a mega post-NTC wrap up when we get back in the middle of October. For now, I leave you with Greg Gutfeld's Osama Bin Laden analysis: "It was at this point, I thought I was listening to Keith Olbermann. That's when it dawned on me. Bin Laden isn't just a terrorist. He's worse. A liberal!" Funny but dead on. Certain liberals even share first names with terrorists...
