white flag

Apparently our representatives are elected to do what they want then convince the voters it was right even when it's clearly not.

More on celebs

Brent Bozell tag-teamed with Cal Thomas this week: Maybe they'll start some type of national anti-celebrity campaign. I'd join.

Good articles

Read it from a guy who's there and then forward it to your representative in congress.

Also, Cal Thomas hits the nail on the head with this article. It seems like more and more of the news on tv is taken up with coverage featuring the sordid details of celebrity lives or some celebrity windbags celebrating their ignorance by parroting each other's anti-war drivel.

funeral

Today I had the unique experience of participating in a military funeral. It was pretty awkward and weird because no one in the funeral had ever met the guy and we all got voluntold to participate. A lieutenant here killed himself and his wife this week, and although suicide prevents a soldier from receiving full military honors at the funeral it was decided to do a small funeral for the family's sake. Not a very fun assignment, but everyone felt bad for this guy's family and the kid he left behind so no one really complained.

Meanwhile, right now I'm waiting for some paperwork to come through so I can leave Ft. Benning and avoid any future funeral details. Today it was 75 degrees here and -20 in Ft. Wainwright so maybe some lost paperwork wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...

Quote of the day

"...Debating non-binding resolutions aimed at earning political points only destroys morale, stymies success and emboldens the enemy.” —Rep. Sam Johnson

Almost Gone

This past week IMLC finished so hopefully that'll be the last time I have to do any math for a while. On Tuesday I'll sign for paper work to start leaving Fort Benning and moving to Alaska. Hopefully it will take about two weeks to get off Fort Benning, and then it will be on to Fort Wainwright. Exciting times for sure, especially given the Army's propensity for changing things and losing paperwork.

Here's a really good site that's especially important for people in SC's 4th district. Look around and you'll see why: http://www.victorycaucus.com/

2 weeks

Only two weeks of IMLC. Now we're learning that computers will one day replace humans in mortar platoons, but things are alot easier that way.
Since the Bears had to lose, at least they lost to the 6'5 23o lb quarterback with the laser rocket arm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G0loI0Jn5M
